Curandera [Acoustic-ish]

So, as alluded to previously, here’s one last track for you for 2015. This is a stripped-down version of “Curandera” (from my first record, Interstate Medicine) which is closer to the way I’ve been playing the song at house concert gigs for the last couple of years.
If you’re not already familiar with this one, it’s more interesting if you know the story behind it, so maybe click over and read about it before you press play.

Anyway, up to now, this song has only been available on a limited edition re-pressing of Interstate Medicine, which you can check out here, if you’re interested. I’m not planning on making this track available to the general public: it’s really more of a special bonus for you, and you should feel free to listen, download, etc…
Again, thanks so much for everything this year, and Happy New Year! ~ Mike from Radio Nowhere
P.S. Some people tell me that they prefer this version to the original. What do you think?

  • Wasn’t original version acoustic enough?) I guess, this is more like another IM medicine track, Electric, it’s good, I’d, however, prefer original – for diversity, as all track on IM are different and unique in their own way. Sounds pretty meditational considering story behind it. thanks Mike, Happy NY!

    • Thanks, Andrey – true that it’s not THAT much more acoustic. I think I did it because I was interested in seeing what it turned out like once you removed the electric guitars: more space for Wurly and vocals, as it turned out. Happy New Year yourself!
